An agency lives on being found. But if a potential client types "Which agency for [service] in [region] do you recommend?" into ChatGPT today, the AI names a handful of names — and surprisingly often it's precisely the agencies that sell their clients GEO and modern visibility that are missing. That's a credibility gap that can be closed.
The credibility gap
No client buys AI visibility from an agency that itself appears in no AI answer. Its own visibility is therefore not just self-marketing, but the most convincing sales proof: "Ask ChatGPT for an agency in our field — and see who gets named."
GEO is often easier for agencies than for their clients
Agencies usually have clear specializations, a well-maintained website and references — exactly the substance from which AI systems build recommendations. Often only the machine-readable signals are missing:
- An llms.txt that compactly explains service, niche and audience to AI
- Schema markup that unambiguously describes the agency as a ProfessionalService
- FAQ and service pages that directly answer typical client questions
- Consistent information across website, LinkedIn and industry directories
Once these signals are set, a known agency becomes one that the AI actively recommends — and that becomes living proof of its own service to clients.
